Here you can find my moodboard: visual stuff that inspired me throughout the year. Ranging from photos to machinimas, live action films and animation films: the source of inspiration reaches further than one art form or era.

These are all photos, taken by me. The combination of light - back light and side light more specific - and darkness is what makes these appealing to me. It creates a sort of mysteriousness.

One of the main reasons why I decided to study animation is the discovery of machinimas on YouTube. I always loved gaming (and still do) and as a teenager I was totally hooked on The Sims 2. My addiction led to the discovery of machinimas and soon after I stumbled upon Oritasho's channel. She's a very talented artist and inspires me a lot with her machinimas. The light in her videos is beautifully done and creates a dreamy and poetic atmosphere. The way she uses light and creates her atmosphere is a true inspiration to me.

Below you can find Oritasho's machinimas that inspired me in particular for this year's Master film.

Another source of inspiration is Stan Brakhage's work. I accidently stumbled upon this experimental film maker a while ago and decided to research his work Dog Star Man for my thesis. I soon discovered he had a very interesting mindset close to mine and an enthralling oeuvre. Check the links below to view Dog Star Man and some interesting articles towards his mindset.
